Snowed In Page 5
“Oh that feels so good,” she gasped as her back arched, pushing her mounds into his open mouth kisses. “Your mouth feels so good.”
His body was primed and he was probably more aroused than he had ever been in his life but he forced himself to take his time lavishing attention on each of her swollen breasts. She moaned his name and the sounds of her pleasure strung his body even tighter. Her hips were rocking into his waist and he could feel the wetness of her growing arousal as she grinded seductively against him.
“I need you,” she said through ragged breaths, “inside of me. Now.”
As much as Mike wanted to prolong this experience hearing her candid request was more than he could resist.
Moving up her body, Mike’s hand moved between them and he positioned the head of his throbbing shaft at the opening of her wet heat.
“Yes,” Nikki cried out as she closed her eyes and bit her bottom lip.
Mike was holding on to barely controlled restraint as Nikki raked her fingers up his back; her hips bucked up, eagerly meeting him. He pressed into her gradually, giving her body time to accommodate his size. Inch by inch he slowly sank into her tight passage. Her inner walls snugly pulsed around him causing flames of desire to consume him.
Her hands gripped his lower back and she wrapped her long legs around him. Her hips tilted and he continued pushing inside of her until he filled her completely. Every muscle tensed as need radiated through his entire body, electrifying every nerve ending.
“You feel so good,” he groaned through clenched teeth resting his forehead against hers.
“So do you,” she whispered as her honey colored eyes opened, filled with desire.
Staring up at him, she moved her hips grinding against his. Her short, heated breaths fanned against his face as he pulled out of her deliberately then eased himself back inside of her. Again and again he repeated the action, delving deeper into her with each rhythmic push. White hot pleasure built inside of him at his measured, insistent strokes in and out of her silken warmth.
Staring down at Nikki, Mike was overwhelmed by the strength of the connection he felt. As their bodies moved together, he didn’t know where he ended and she began. Buried deep inside of her, the rest of the world disappeared.
All he could see was her. All he could feel was her. All he could think about was her. She was all that existed to him.
He was totally consumed by Nikki. Nothing else mattered. No responsibilities. No obligations. No schedules. Just her. In this moment she owned him; mind, body and soul.
Her body began to shake beneath him as he drove into her harder and faster. Her arms and legs were wrapped tightly around him. Holding him firmly against her body.
She pressed her mouth to his neck. Kissing and licking him as she whimpered and cursed in pleasure under her breath. Telling him over and over how good he was making her body feel.
Just as he felt himself on the verge of orgasm, knowing he wasn’t going to be able to hold on any longer, he felt her magnificent body begin to shudder in release beneath him. Her head fell back against the pillow, gasping in pleasure as her body milked his.
Mindlessly, he continued driving into her as lightning bolts of fulfillment burst through him. He lost himself in the frenzy of simultaneous explosions of ecstasy. A harsh groan of masculine satisfaction escaped him as he plunged up and over the crest of bliss.
His limbs felt heavy and drained as he slowly returned to the present, coming down from the longest, hottest release of his life.
“Just stay here,” Nikki said through labored breathing. Her arms and legs still wrapped around him. His body still embedded deep inside hers, “I just want to feel you…for a little bit longer.”
Mike knew exactly how she felt. If it was up to him he would stay like this forever. After several minutes of lying still together, Mike was concerned that he might be crushing her. He lifted his head and kissed her forehead, cheeks, and lips, before reluctantly getting up, disposing of the condom and cleaning himself up.
When he returned to the bed he saw Nikki’s eyes closed and her breathing was steady. He didn’t think it was possible for someone to fall asleep that quickly but then he heard her snoring softly.
At that moment, watching her sleeping so soundly, her lips swollen from his kisses, her body sprawled out across the bed totally relaxed, listening to her soft snores, Mike felt happier than he had in his entire life.
Deciding not to question it or over-analyze it, he slipped into bed beside Nikki, pulled her against him snugly and closed his eyes. He could figure out what this all meant tomorrow, right now he was just going to enjoy the feeling of her in the bed and in his arms.
Chapter Four
Nikki slowly became aware of her surroundings as she forced her eyes to open. She immediately noted several things. First, she was in bed being held by very strong arms and they made her feel…safe. Second, there was a very loud, very annoying ringing sound in her head. And lastly, she was not in her own bed. Her eyes darted from left to right and she saw that she was in a hotel room.
That’s right. I’m in Dallas. And I am with…
Turning her head to the side she saw the gorgeous profile of Mike’s handsome face as he slept soundly. Butterflies flittered through her stomach as her eyes drifted down his lean body. Unfortunately, there was a sheet lying over his waist covering his best asset.
A shiver ran through Nikki at the memory of just how amazing that asset had made her feel the night before. Nikki liked sex. She was not in any way ashamed of how much she enjoyed physical contact. But, last night wasn’t just sex. It had felt so much deeper than just mutual pleasure from an intimate act.
When Mike had been inside of her and looked down into her eyes, it was like she could see all the way to his soul. That connection was more intimate than anything she had ever experienced while having sex. She was by no means a “romantic” and knew that it could have been a fluke. Still, a small voice in her head piped up; maybe not.
Her mind was still a little hazy but she distinctly remembered wanting to test that very question and find the answer, fluke or not, in round two. But as she laid beside a sleeping Mike and searched her memory she couldn’t remember there being a round two.
The last thing she remembered was Mike getting up to go to the bathroom. Had she passed out? Damn. She must have fallen asleep. She always got tired after good sex, and theirs had been particularly, mind-blowingly, spectacular. Plus on top of that, she’d been up for almost twenty-four hours and she’d enjoyed several Cosmos the night before.
Suddenly another thought hit her and panic rushed through her.
Had she snored?
She did have a tendency to snore, just a little bit, when she was exhausted and/or had been drinking. Crap. That would be just perfect; she could see how it must have played out. She and Mike had insanely hot sex, he left for a few moments to return to her dead to the world and snoring. The cherry on top would definitely be if she had been drooling as well.
She rubbed her hands over her face. Oh well, there was nothing she could do about that now. The ringing had stopped but it started again and she realized it was her phone.
Carefully, she scooted out from under Mike’s arm and off the bed. She tip toed across the room to retrieve her phone. Well she tried to tip toe. Her movements weren’t nearly as graceful as those two little words suggested since her legs felt wobbly and she was sore in places she didn’t even know she could be sore in. What she did would be more accurately described as silently stumbling across the room.
Finally, she made it to her purse and pulled out her phone, instantly putting it on silent so it didn’t disturb Mike. Glancing down at the screen she saw that it was six-fifteen and she had seven missed calls.
Great.
Grabbing her overnight bag, she headed into the bathroom to check her messages and take a quick shower. She shut the door as quietly as possible, holding the knob and turning it slowly. Then, she flicked on the light an
d almost screamed bloody murder as she saw her reflection in the mirror. Whoever said there was such a thing as a morning-after glow, clearly, had not seen Nikki. True, florescent lights were unforgiving but this was ridiculous.
Her skin, which normally had a nice warm undertone thanks to her half-Italian heritage, was a pasty white. Her hair was matted in a tangled mess. She had mascara smeared beneath her eyes, which would have been bad enough but when she wiped it off it only revealed dark circles in its place. Oh and she had stubble burn across her chest.
Nikki was suddenly very grateful that she had been the first one to wake up this morning. If Mike had seen her like this she wouldn’t have blamed him if he’d have run out of the room in horror. She was equally glad that they were in her room so she didn’t have to do the dreaded walk of shame down the hallways of the hotel looking like a slutty monster.
As her mom always said, Thank God for small blessings.
Before she listened to her messages, she decided to jump in the shower. She knew it might be vain but that way if Mike did happen to wake up and need to use the facility, he wouldn’t find her looking like this.
As much as Nikki wanted to luxuriate in the sensation of the hot water cascading over her body she knew that this shower had to be all business. She washed, shaved, shampooed, and conditioned in record time.
After stepping out, drying off and wrapping the fluffy white towel around her, she picked up her phone to listen to her messages and saw that it was only six twenty-four, which meant she’d just taken the quickest shower of her life. She would pat herself on the back but she didn’t have time.
The first two messages were from her mother. She was worried about the weather where Nikki was. The last five were from her supervisor Frank. The weather restrictions had been lifted; he wanted her flight ready and at the airport by six-thirty for a chartered flight scheduled to leave at seven forty-five.
Well that’s not going to happen.
Nikki was good but she wasn’t that good. She quickly called Frank back and let him know that she’d be there by six forty-five or seven at the latest. He wasn’t happy about it but he didn’t press her on the subject. Not only was Nikki one of his best flight attendants at the airline, he’d also been trying to get her into bed for the last few months. It was never going to happen and she certainly did not lead him to believe any differently but who was she to turn down preferential treatment that was based solely on fact that her boss was a delusional pervert.
She dried her hair quickly and applied a fresh coat of mascara and lipstick. Then pulled on her panties, bra, and stockings. She hated wearing stockings but it was part of her required uniform as a corporate flight attendant. It was a small price to pay for how much she enjoyed her job though. She normally worked first class on commercial flights, which she loved. Sometimes, like today though, she had to work a chartered flight which Nikki had mixed emotions about.
The workload was much lighter, so that was a plus. Sometimes the clients were famous and that was kind of fun, unless the celebrities were assholes. Usually though, the clientele were rich business men who felt entitled to “special customer service.” Nikki had never been one to give into the whims of passengers like some of her colleagues, so needless to say these flight could be hours of her fending off unwanted advances while still trying to maintain the air of professional courtesy.
It was exhausting.
She hurried as she packed up her toiletries and clothes from the day before and stepped out into the room. Her eyes took a minute to adjust to the darkness but as soon as they did she quickly moved to the closet where her uniform was hanging and slipped on her pencil skirt and white button up shirt.
As she stepped into her shoes she looked over her shoulder to see that Mike was still sleeping soundly. She was not quite sure how to handle this morning after. Normally, in this situation she would just leave. It was simple. But, she felt like their night together deserved more than that.
She could leave her number but what if he didn’t want it? He hadn’t asked for it. Nikki did not want to be one of those girls whose heart skipped a beat every time she got a call or text in hopes that it might be him. What if she gave him her number and he never called her? What then? Deep down Nikki knew the answer to that question. She would be devastated.
That thought scared her more than anything else. Never before in her life had someone held that kind of power over her. She didn’t like how it made her feel. Vulnerability and Nikki were like oil and water; they just did not mix well.
Okay, so decision made; she was not going to leave him her number. She could wake him and tell him she was leaving but what if he was not a morning person or if he felt regret over their night together? What if he was a jerk?
Yeah, she didn’t really think she could handle that either. Since just leaving didn’t feel right and she couldn’t wake him or leave her number Nikki figured there was only one option left.
Picking up the hotel stationary she scribbled a quick note, pressed her lips to it—for a personal touch—grabbed her bags and she was out the door.
--- ~ ---
Mike’s head was pounding as he opened his eyes.
Wait.
Nope that wasn’t his head, that was…the door. Adrenaline flooded his system as he stood and quickly scanned the room to get his bearings. Memories of the night before flashed in his mind.
Nikki.
His eyes darted around the room. Empty. He didn’t see any of her things there. A sinking feeling washed over him. She was gone.
“Housekeeping,” he heard a woman call out at the same time he heard the distinctive sound of the door opening.
Mike’s head spun in the direction of the door and then down at himself. Shit. He was naked.
With ninja like quickness, he grabbed his pants and pulled them up just as a woman carrying a stack of fresh sheets rounded the corner.
“Oh!” She jumped back, obviously not expecting to see a half-naked man. “I’m so sorry. I knocked,” she quickly explained.
“I know. I was asleep. I’m sorry if I scared you. If you could just give me a few minutes, I’ll be out of your hair.” Mike felt completely off balance.
He had no idea what time it was. If his people knew where he was. If they’d been looking for him.
“Of course,” she began to leave and then did a double take. He waited for her to ask if he was him, but she just stared for a moment before leaving the room.
Raking his hands through his hair. Mike tried to think straight. His phone. He needed his phone.
Grabbing it from the night stand he saw he had over one hundred missed calls.
What the hell? Why hadn’t his missed calls woken him up?
Damn. He forgot he’d put his phone on silent when he’d been at the bar with Nikki. It had been going off every few minutes and he hadn’t wanted the distraction. He’d just wanted to focus on her. More memories of the night before flooded his senses. Her soft skin, her tight body, her scent, her taste.
Shaking off the memories he decided that instead of listening to all of his messages he would just go straight to the source. Just as he was about to place his call, Phil’s face appeared on his screen.
Well, speak of the devil.
He swiped the screen, “Hel-”
“Where the hell have you been?!” Phil’s frantic voice sounded as scared as it did angry.
“I’ve been sleeping and my phone was on silent,” Mike answered honestly.
“I was about to call the police. I’ve been trying to get a hold of you for hours.”
Mike looked down at the small bedside clock. The red illuminated numbers read nine-fifteen. Mike couldn’t remember the last time he’d slept past six.
“I called your room and sent hotel staff up to check on you. They said that the bed had not been slept in.”
Mike’s back stiffened at Phil’s accusatory tone.
“And?” Mike knew that Phil felt because of his position that he was entit
led to full disclosure when it came to Mike’s personal life. Mike, however, was not of that mindset.
“We’ll talk about it later. They have been holding a flight for you. How soon can you make it to the airport?”
“I can be there in thirty.”
“Good. I’ll see you then,” Phil snapped before disconnecting the call.
Phil was here? In Dallas?
Great. Just what he needed.
Mike knew that after being MIA since last night he needed to get his head in the game. Shaking off the disappointment of Nikki being gone, he quickly dressed and sat at the small table to tie his shoes before he headed up to his room for a quick shower and to get his carry on.
Just as he was standing a small note caught his eye. It read:
Had a great time last night. In fact… it was one of the best nights of my life. XOXO, Nikki.
Below her message was an imprint of lips. He turned it over to see if she had left her phone number, her email address. Anything. But there was nothing else other than the hotel information at the top of the paper. He sighed in disappointment as he folded it and placed it in his pocket as he headed out the door.
He stepped out of the room and was met with not one but four ladies, all dressed in the identical uniforms. They were smiling nervously as they held up magazines and asked to take pictures with him.
He smiled and obliged them, pushing down how uncomfortable the attention made him.
After he’d posed for several pictures, signed their magazines and one cleaning bottle, he gracefully excused himself stating that he had a plane to catch.
As he made his way down the hall towards the elevator, he just couldn’t shake the feeling of intrusion that was welling up inside of him. Which was ridiculous. He was a public figure. Those ladies were all sweet and sane. Unlike some of the new found “fans” he’d come across in recent months.
So why did he feel like a trapped rat in a cage. Then like a mirror un-fogging after a hot shower the reason became perfectly clear. Last night, being with Nikki, he’d let his protective walls down. Around her he’d been himself. Not his position. Not his public image. Not his status. Just himself.
